How can you be productive if you aren't healthy?

How can a naturopath help you to be more productive?

Do you feel like you are busier than ever but getting less done?  Are you suffering from a severe case of "modern life"?  When was the last time you felt like you really accomplished something and "made a difference"?

I attended a seminar a while back where I learned (among other things) that we spend, on average, 40% of our time on unimportant tasks!  Imagine that.

If we could cut out even a quarter of those tasks, we would be a whole lot more productive.

The seminar went through how to identify tasks that are important and those that aren't, how to schedule them into your week, how to control your technology (not the other way around) and more.

The big message for me though was the importance of looking after the key drivers of your productivity in the long term.

How does your health impact your productivity?

Perhaps you've already made the connection between these factors and your productivity, but if you haven't here's some things to think about:

  • moving your body to help nutrients circulate and prevent stagnation (of body and mind)

In a nutshell, these principles are all about achieving and maintaining good health and well-being and it just reinforces my belief that:

Looking after your health is the most important thing you can do for yourself (and therefore, by default, for those around you)

So, being more productive is not just about "to do" lists, planning tasks, delegating and "working smarter".  If you are not addressing these key drivers of your ability to be productive you will eventually lose your ability to be effective; maybe not tomorrow but maybe the day after....
